Despicable Me 4

Gru is back at it again, but this time, things get a bit personal. During a class reunion for the not-so-nice school he attended, he bumps into Maxime Le Mal, a supervillain who still holds a grudge from their school days. Maxime gets nabbed by the Anti-Villain League cops but vows to take Gru down. So, Gru’s boss thinks it’s best if Gru and his family hide out somewhere safe.

So off they go to the quaint town of Mayflower—Gru, his wife Lucy, daughters Margo, Edith, and Agnes, along with their new baby boy, Gru Jr., and of course, the trusty Minions Phil, Ron, and Ralph. New place means new names and identities for the whole gang which leads to some hilarious mix-ups. They’re also stuck next to some snooty neighbors and their teenage daughter Poppy who tries roping Gru into a big heist.

Back at HQ, the League turns five Minions into superhero agents as Maxime starts cooking up trouble using his creepy obsession with bugs against Gru.

Directed by Chris Renaud again in this fourth ‘Despicable Me’ chapter, there’s more than just villainy on the agenda—at its heart is Gru’s journey to win over his baby boy’s love. You see quite a dad-son dynamic here as Gru would do anything for that little guy!

Despicable Me 4 keeps things moving fast, trying hard to win back all its fans. They make sure each character you love has their moment in the spotlight. Sure, it might not be as groundbreaking as the first movie was, but it still manages to bring that infectious cheeriness you’d expect.

If you’re watching in Italian, Gru’s voice you’ll recognize is done by Max Giusti; in English, it’s Steve Carell who voices him. And there are some fun voice changes with Stefano Accorsi doing Maxime—you’ll notice his interesting accent switch-up! Plus, Carolina Benvenga now voices Lucy instead of Arisa.

So yeah, if you’re into these movies or just want a feel-good watch with lots of giggles—this one’s got you covered!
